My laptop is pretty old and configuration is not that great: Intel core solo 1.8GHz, 945GM, and 1GB RAM. Initially I thought Leopard won’t run on this config, but I thought of taking a chance. Previously I tried Tiger on this same laptop which worked as expected. So far Leopard is running great. It takes about 15 seconds to boot up and 5 seconds to shut down.. :O Speed is amazing. It takes less than 500MB RAM with all those eye candies and runs pretty smooth and very responsive. Applications open up in within a second. It is hard to believe considering the fact that its a non Apple computer. I have Arch Linux installed which takes about 300 MB RAM with default Gnome installation without any eye candy and windows XP which takes about 500MB RAM with many startup programs. Overall I’m very impressed with speed, simplicity and of course look!

Now the bad news. As usual, Intel 3945ABG wireless card is the culprit; my wireless is not working. Not a problem. I’m ordering a USB wireless card which is mac compatible. And headphone jack is not working. So I have to stick to boring laptop speakers till I get a USB sound card (not anytime soon).

I’m planning to transfer all my works from Windows to Leopard once I get that wireless card. Let me try out leopard for sometime. Specialy I want to see how web development goes on Mac. If I like it then a MBP is locked on my wishlist.

Even since I started learning PHP, AJAX etc., I wanted to develop some kinda Web 2.0 application: something like social-networking site (not traditional social-networking site). Now that I’m learning CodeIgniter (and enjoying every bit of it); that wish (or ‘dream’!) of mine has been ignited once again by CodeIgniter. It’s really hard to explain how much fun it is to build applications using CodeIgniter. You just have to try it once.

Anyway, coming back to my wish. You must be wondering why don’t I just build once if that’s what I want? Well, that’s the problem. What shall I build? Honestly, when comes to generating ideas, my right brain is so dead! I never managed to come up with any kind of creative ideas. I suck at creative thinking .

Whenever I think about building some kinda web application; only thing that comes to my mind is ‘blog’ or ‘CMS’ (can you believe that!). I seriously need some help. So, if you have some ideas please let me know. We can work on it together. Who knows; it might turn into the next big thing on Internet! What say you?

Have you ever felt that Internet is an evil? How it is ruining your social life. You spend most of your time online (like I do) playing online games, chatting with your online friends, even during holidays… Doesn’t it make your feel low sometime and brings a guilty conscience? Did this thought ever come to your mind, “I wish the Internet had never been born!”? Life would have been more simple and full of fun. You would have had more number of real friends than online friends. I’m sure you have had these thoughts before.

How about you watch this animated story book? I’m sure, by the time the story gets over, you will feel much better and you will thank the Internet.

“I have been using computers for well over 4 years now and can say that this was one of the worst games I had ever purchased. For one, in order to even install the game you have to completely ERASE ALL YOUR DATA! I did not know this when I installed and lost almost all of my hotmail messages. Second, I was really suprised that this did not run on my wife’s apple macintosh. In this day and age, is it really acceptable that software only run on dell computers, but not on apple or even IBM’s? Well, I always try to look at the glass half full, so I continued installed and found that not only had my start menu had moved to the top, but all my programs had been moved around. OK, before you bombard me with replies, this is NOT my review. This one is by some idiot (or by someone who was being funny) on Amazon. If you don’t believe me then take a look by yourself.

“Worst OS”? acceptable. BUT “Worst game”!? A person with 4 years of computing experience can’t differentiate between OS and game? What was he thinking before buying the product at the first place? Surprisingly 122 of 389 people found the review helpful.. :O Well, I found that review to be helpful too in a way that it made my day.. :p

So far we have been beating web junks. Let us beat the heat with some cold coffee and banana shake! Cold coffee is my favorite. Its simple and quick to prepare.

Cold Coffee:

Ingredients: 1. 3/4 Glass of cold milk, 2. 1/4 glass of crushed ice, 3. 1/2 table spoon(tbsp) of coffee (Nescafe or any of your favorite. Add more or less according to your taste), 4. 3tbsp of sugar or according to your taste.
